Doesn’t it just figure? You finally get to retirement, having earned that peaceful respite after a long life of working. However, you start to develop sleep issues which hinder your ability to get a good night’s rest. If you have a problem getting to sleep or staying that way, chances are that you are not getting the rest you need to feel rejuvenated. There are some things you can try however, to re-capture that time with the Sandman:
1. Stick to a schedule – Always stick to the same schedule whether it is a weekend or a holiday. By going to bed at the same time every night, you are getting your circadian rhythm in sync with your lifestyle. Also, by making sure that you are getting some sunshine or natural light in your daily afternoon rituals, this can better tell your body what time of day it is.

It’s a common place observation that as you age you have to work harder to keep the pounds off and to stay fit. One major reason is the inescapable biological fact that metabolism slows as we age. Inescapable for now, at least, until medical technology finds some safe way to alter it.
Genetic research into aging is trying, in a way, to do just that. Several studies in the last two decades have pointed to hints about precisely what causes aging. If they get sufficient knowledge of the subject, there is some hope of altering the situation.

Dancing is a way let your spirit move you – literally. For some reason, dancing opens people up. It unites people, sparks the imagination and brings a smile to your face. For some, dancing is a way to reminisce about the good old days. Who knew that dancing is a great exercise for older adults too?
For a great workout of the body as well as the mind and spirit, dancing is the perfect choice. Regular exercise is the best way to keep healthy, both in body and in spirit. With exercise, you can expect that those chemicals in the brain will kick start new growth in nerve cells. And because you have to learn the moves, not only will you benefit physically, you will also keep your mind sharp as well.

Growing old means your body goes through a variety of changes. It’s just a natural progression of life. Bones, joints, skin tissue, muscles, hormones and even changes at the cellular level all occur. It is up to you and partially your genetic history to make certain lifestyle choices which will allow you to retire and age gracefully.
